Welcome to the Sustainability Knowledge Network

Welcome!

Welcome to the Sustainability Knowledge Network.  Since November 2004, inaugural members have been working to progress the development of the SKN-Collaborative Workspace.  We use this SKN-CW home page to apprise you of our progress, performance and plans for continual improvement.

As of December 12, 2007 over 4,000 news articles, full text reference articles, presentations, documents, videos and website links are now available.

We invite you to explore, engage with and add to:

      • Over 500 registered sustainability practitioner members;
      • Over 50 public and private Project Workspaces;
      • Ten SKN Affiliated Partner & Community Channels;
      • Six "Basic" Stakeholder Channels; and
      • Seven SKN Supported Channels.

Project workspaces are in use by multi-stakeholder teams, companies and non-profit organizations.  Project workspaces allow virtual teams to self organize their project tasks; share ideas and progress notes via team blogs and communications folders; create their own project specific reference libraries; Coordinate project stakeholder mapping, intelligence and communications; and effectively engage and motivate the social network of people most relevant to the success of their projects.

SKN Affiliated Partner & Community Channels have been established for a variety of SKN Partner organizations including: The Center for Environmental and Economic Partnerships (CEEP); Fairleigh Dickinson University's Institute for Sustainable Enterprise; Innovest Strategic Value Advisors and The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection among others.

"Basic" Stakeholder Channels have been established to facilitate Stakeholder intelligence and communications including: Business Stakeholders (SBizNet); Government and Policy Stakeholders (SGovNet); Education Stakeholders (SEduNet); Investors (SInvNet); Social Entrepreneurs and Non-profits (NGONet); and for Individual, Consumer and Spiritual aligned Values Stakeholder organizations (SValNet).

SKN Supported Channels provide links to portals managed by SKN supported organizations.  These affiliated portals offer incredibly useful content, tools and contacts relevant to the sustainability advancing work of SKN members.

In early 2008, we expect to add e-commerce and social networking portal enhancements.

With your input and the collective participation of our SKN communities, organizations, and individual members supported by our team of experts and content editors, The Sustainability Knowledge Network is becoming a valuable tool for advancing Sustainability and a better quality of life for all!
