Link Building the Web 2.0 Enterprise: McKinsey Global Survey Results
McKinsey's second global survey on the business use of Web 2.0 technologies shows that companies have adopted more Web 2.0 tools--such as blogs, wikis, and social networks--in 2008 than in 2007 and are using them for higher-value purposes. Although 21% of the respondents are pleased with the way their companies use these tools. Of these respondents, only 8% say that they are not changing their organizations. Others say they are transforming management practices and possibly even organizational struture, creating new roles and functions within the enterprise, and altering relationships with supply chains and customers. However other companies report barriers to adopting these tools: lukewarm to negative leadership responses; management's not seeing the potential for financial returns; and corporate cultures' lack of receptivity. Go to the site below and read the full report. For those who are more visually inclined, see charts displaying respondents' views.
