Welcome to SChemNet
Welcome and introduction to SChemNet for invited pilot SChemNet members and visitors.
Welcome to the SChemNet
“A collaborative workspace for advancing Sustainable and Green Chemistry.”
Welcome to SChemNet, a collaborative workspace for Sustainable Chemistry practitioners and interested stakeholders. This SKN premium channel is being developed as a cooperative partnership between SKN Worldwide and The Green Chemistry Program at The University of Massachusetts Lowell.
This pilot network development initiative is in its beginning stages. Our immediate efforts have been focused on researching existing Sustainable and Green Chemistry Stakeholder organizations, developing a list of leading practitioners and exploring how collaborative technologies can be used to accelerate learning and research, promote standards and facilitate multi-stakeholder dialogue and projects.
SKN and UML will be presenting the results of our research and network development progress including a demonstration of the SChemNet on June 20th at the 2nd International Conference on Green and Sustainable Chemistry.
In advance of this presentation, we have extended special invitations to a select group of Sustainable and Green Chemistry experts to:
· Observe our development and content loading efforts to date;
· Review and engage in selected topical discussion forums;
· Review and comment on our initial home page features;
· Review and comment on our initial project page features;
· Review and comment on our presidential green chemistry awards case library;
· Review initial use cases on how the SChemNet CW might be used;
· Suggest new members, stakeholder organizations, reference articles, technology and user interface enhancements and use cases.
As a Premium Channel, SKN is able to incorporate premium and/or private content and tools. Premium SChemNet exclusive content may include specialty news services, publications and or selected sector and corporate financial analyst profiles. Private content may be appropriate for “invitation only” discussion forum groups or for project data, draft documents and communications not yet intended for broader publication. Network specific tools may include surveys, case writing templates, metrics development templates and or cost benefit analysis applications.
As a Collaborative Workspace, SKN encourages high transparency and broad distribution of the SKN sponsored research, event presentations, training courses and project experiences.
